Missouri bettors are now able to download the DraftKings Sportsbook app in the Show Me State. However, customers are not allowed to deposit money or place wagers yet.

DraftKings is getting ahead of the curve, allowing bettors to download the app and tinker around the platform before placing bets. Sports betting launches on Dec. 1, where as many as 12 online Missouri sportsbooks are expected to go live.

What bettors can and can’t do on the DraftKings Sportsbook app

There is a strict list of what customers can do and not do on the app prior to the launch date. Here are some of the things customers can do right now:

  • Download the app
  • Browse through the features
  • Check betting lines
  • Begin creating a profile

There are some restrictions to what customers can, though. Even though you can download the app, you still are unable to do the following:

  • Complete registration
  • Deposit money
  • Make wagers

DraftKings is treating the Missouri launch very seriously. It has high expectations for the launch, and beyond. It wants its customers to get a head start.

“We want to own Missouri,” DraftKings CEO Jason Robbins said recently. “It’s a must-win at all costs.”

Looking ahead at key dates

Missouri bettors are counting down the days until it can start placing wagers on Dec. 1. Until then, there are some key dates to keep in mind prior to launch day.

Multiple operators, such as BetMGM and bet365, have applied for tethered licenses last week. Most of the major platforms have done so.

The Missouri Gaming Commission is awarding 19 retail and 12 online sports betting licenses on Oct. 22.

Customers are able to create accounts and start depositing money on all platforms starting on Nov. 17.

On Dec. 1, bettors can officially start making wagers.

DraftKings is going to face competition from usual suspects such as FanDuel, its biggest rival, BetMGM, Fanatics and Caesars.
