To gear up for the Dec. 1 launch, operators are offering their best MO sports betting promos to eager bettors, who can claim pre-live offers now up until Nov. 30.

As PlayMissouri ranked those offers earlier this week, there are certain tips bettors should know when using generous promos at Missouri sportsbooks.

1. Easy money

There are going to be 10 sports platforms that are going to be live when the market officially opens on Dec. 1. Bettors can actually download most of the apps now and begin depositing money.

Most operators are providing promos for bettors to celebrate the launch. Customers can open multiple apps and have bonus wagers waiting for them. By doing so, there’s an easy way to guarantee a win.

Let’s say you open a DraftKings Sportsbook and a bet365 Sportsbook account. DraftKings is offering a no-deposit-required $300 in bonus wagers, while bet365 is supplying $365 in bonus bets after making a $10 wager.

For the Monday Night Football game between the New York Giants and New England Patriots on Dec. 1, bet both sides to guarantee a winning outcome.

DraftKings has the odds set with the Patriots -7.5 (-110) and the Giants at +7.5 (-110). On DraftKings, place a $11 bonus wager on the Patriots, and on bet365, place a $11 bonus wager on the Giants.

No matter what happens, you are getting $10 into one of the accounts. You can do that for any sport with a spread bet.

2. What you actually win with bonus bets

The example above gives a good example on an easy way to win a bit, by betting both sides. But what are you really winning?

Don’t worry, you’re still receiving money. However, you only receive the payout of the amount won, not including the amount of the wager.

For example, say you place a $11 wager on the Patriots to cover the -7.5 spread, and it hits, your payout is just going to be $10. Not the $21, which would include the amount of the wager, too.

You have to use real money to win back the wager amount.

3. Eye the no-deposit bonuses

Most operators will make you deposit or even spend a certain amount of real money before a promo kicks in. If it’s $5 or $10, it’s certainly not the end of the world.

There are some platforms that’ll just give you money for signing up. That’s exactly what FanDuel Sportsbook and DraftKings are doing.

FanDuel is giving you $100 just for signing up. Then, bet $5, get $300 in bonus bets on launch and it’s also matching a first deposit up to $100. FanDuel users could have $500 in bonus wagers on Dec. 1.

DraftKings is awarding customers $300 … just for signing up.

Without spending a dime, you could instantly win a wager by using the example above to bet on both sides.

Even though it requires deposits, Fanatics Sportsbook and BetMGM Sportsbook are offering the largest amounts of bonus bets.

4. Be wary of downloading too many apps

Usually with bonus bets, there’s a timeline in which they are eligible. Most have a playthrough requirement of seven days before you lose them.

For FanDuel, DraftKings, Fanatics, BetMGM and bet365, their bonuses are only eligible for seven days, which isn’t a ton of time. Caesars is giving players 14 days to clear the promos.

Especially for a bonuses like Fanatics, which is offering 15, $200 no-sweat bets. That could take a little while to play though. BetMGM is offering up to $1,500 in bonus wagers.

Downloading three or four operators might be the way to go for the pre-live period. Don’t feel like you missed out on the other apps, either, because there are certain to be more promos in the weeks following the launch.

5. Look for parlay boosts, but also be careful

Parlays are certainly fun, having to cheer for multiple outcomes in order for a wager to win. Operators usually offer lots of parlay boosts to entice bettors for a larger payout.

You could easily get overwhelmed with all of the markets operators offer. Most platforms do have premade parlays, which is certainly an easy way to put down money.

My advice would be to cruise through the different markets and make your own parlays. Also, check the parlay boosts frequently.

Parlays are what make operators a lot of money. It’s rare to hit a five-leg, or more, parlay consistently. The ones you see that win online are so few and far between.

Even though it might be boring, I’m a straight bettor. I bet that one outcome is going to win or lose, which makes my odds already at 50-50. Having multiple legs in a wager makes it that much tougher.

It’s OK to dabble in parlays, but your best bet is making straight wagers.

Enjoy the start of sports wagering in Missouri, but remember to practice responsible gambling.
