Missouri is set to become the 39th state to launch sports wagering in the US, which is now less than a month away. Officials plan to open the market on Dec. 1.
It’s been a long time coming for the Show Me State, as it announced in May the jurisdiction would offer online wagering for residents and visitors.
There are plenty of nuggets for Missourians to know as Missouri sports betting quickly approaches.
What apps are available on launch date?
The Missouri Gaming Board (MGB) awarded DraftKings Sportsbook and Circa Sports with untethered licenses in August. That means the operators do not need to partner with a retail casino in the state.
Here are the other online operators that will be ready on Dec. 1:
- Bet365 Sportsbook
- BetMGM Sportsbook
- Caesars Sportsbook
- FanDuel Sportsbook
- Fanatics Sportsbook
- ESPN BET Sportsbook
- Underdog Sportsbook
The state is allowing up to 12 online operators. Bally’s, BetRivers, and Hard Rock could potentially launch at later dates.
The MGCB also issued licenses to eight retail casinos across the state, which include:
- Ameristar Casino Hotel Kansas City (Fanatics Sportsbook)
- Ameristar Casino Resort Spa St. Charles (Fanatics Sportsbook)
- Argosy Casino & Hotel (Penn/ESPN BET)
- Century Casino & Hotel Cape Girardeau (BetMGM)
- Harrah’s Kansas City (Caesars)
- Hollywood Casino and Hotel St. Louis (Penn Entertainment/ESPN BET)
- Horseshoe St. Louis (Caesars)
- River City Casino and Hotel (Penn/ESPN BET)

What’s available to bet on in December
There’s still a ton of sports happening in December, when Missouri officially launches sports wagering.
NFL betting will have a full slate of regular season action in December. The Kansas City Chiefs have four games on the opening month, and one more in January. Then, of course, comes the playoffs and Super Bowl in February.
The college football betting regular season will be wrapped up by Dec. 1. However, bowl games and the College Football Playoffs start on Dec. 19, and carry on through January. The University of Missouri needs to finish with a ranking of 12 or better to compete in the playoffs.
The following sports will be in the middle of their respective regular seasons:
- NBA betting
- NHL betting
- College basketball betting
