The number of retail and mobile sports betting options grew greatly for Missouri bettors on Wednesday, as the Missouri Gaming Commission issued temporary licenses “that will allow companies to test systems and equipment and make any necessary preparations needed before launching sports wagering on Dec. 1.”

On the retail side, the eight casinos vying for licenses – for sportsbooks operated by BetMGM Sportsbook, Caesars Sportsbook, Fanatics Sportsbook, and Penn Entertainment/ESPN BET Sportsbook – all got them, meaning that barring unforeseen complications, these sites will offer onsite betting starting Dec. 1.

All the mobile betting operators also got the green light to begin operations Dec. 1, including:

Supplier licenses also awarded

The commission also awarded Sports Wagering Suppliers Licenses to companies supporting sports betting operators, including:

  • BMM Testlabs
  • Catalist Sports
  • Entain Holdings
  • Gaming Laboratories International
  • GDC America
  • Genius Sports Media
  • GeoComply
  • Integrity Compliance 360
  • International Betting Integrity Association
  • Kambi
  • LexisNexis Risk Solutions
  • NYX Digital Gaming
  • SIS Content Services
  • SportsContentCo
  • Stadium Technology Group
  • SUZOHAPP Gaming Solutions
  • Swish Analytics
  • Swish Analytics Missouri
  • United Tote Gaming Services

Missourians can open accounts in a month

MGC’s list also included DraftKings Sportsbook and Circa Sports, which got news of their untethered license win back in August.

For FanDuel, getting the mobile tethered license – coupled with its decision to not enter the retail license contest – means it will be able to go head-to-head with DraftKings and other competitors as it has in many other states legalizing sports betting before Missouri.

For Fanatics, the mobile license plus its presence in Ameristar casinos in the Show Me State’s two major markets means that it will be competitive as it solidifies its position as a sports betting operator despite starting up in January 2023.

And for Underdog Sportsbook, which is better known for its daily fantasy sports offerings, it will be able to open shop in just its second state; it currently has sports betting operations in North Carolina.

Missouri bettors will be able to make deposits in their mobile accounts on Nov. 17 ahead of the Dec. 1 start date.
