With a new ad featuring famed actor and St. Louis native Jon Hamm showing support for the Kansas City Chiefs, BetMGM is reminding Missourians that it is taking deposits starting Friday, Nov. 17, ahead of the Monday, Dec. 1 launch of Missouri online sports betting.

To help promote the launch, BetMGM has announced that eligible players in Missouri who pre-register on the BetMGM app between Nov. 17 and 30, and deposit a minimum of $10 before Dec. 1, will receive an exclusive MO sports betting bonus offer of $100 in bonus bets. Those bonus bets will be available Dec. 1 and expire in seven days, with one new player offer per user.

BetMGM positioned to be top-three operator in Missouri

While sports betting only became legal in Missouri a year ago, narrowly passing in the statewide election on Nov. 5, 2024, BetMGM has had a multi-year partnership with Missouri’s only NFL team since Sept. 1, 2022 — the day that sports betting became legal in neighboring Kansas.

Century Casino & Hotel Cape Girardeau, located in the southeast corner of the state, struck a deal with BetMGM in May for a retail betting partnership. However, the vast majority of BetMGM’s handle in Missouri is expected to be generated through its mobile app.

According to Sensor Tower data cited in The Closing Line last December, BetMGM app downloads are third in the sports betting space nationwide, lagging behing industry leaders DraftKings and FanDuel — both of which will be available to bettors in Missouri Dec. 1 — but ahead of other Missouri competitors like Caesars and Penn (under the ESPNBet brand that will transition to theScore Bet on Dec. 1 following ESPN’s pivot from Penn to DraftKings).

KC Chiefs betting fans wishing to bet on the team’s Super Bowl prospects should know that oddsmakers currently have them favored in the futures market to win their third title in four years, with the reigning Philadelphia Eagles tied with the Los Angeles Rams (formerly the St. Louis Rams) as second-most likely, just behind the Chiefs.
