Possible Bally’s Kansas City sportsbook partners

Missouri has yet to legalize sports betting, although the topic continues to receive attention as a number of other states — nearby and not — move to do so. Should Missouri add sports betting to its current legal gambling options, expect Bally’s Kansas City to be among the properties with a sportsbook.

The online Bally Bet Sportsbook is already operating in a half-dozen states, and there’s little doubt Bally’s Corp. would seek a license to launch the online sportsbook and betting app in Missouri as well should the state legalize sports betting.

As far as retail sportsbooks go, Bally’s has partnerships with multiple books in its casinos in other states. These include William Hill (in Indiana) and the FanDuel Group (in New Jersey). There are also Bally Bet retail sportsbooks at the company’s casinos in Colorado.

Bally’s Kansas City amenities

The focus at Bally’s Kansas City is primarily on the casino and games, although there are places to relax and socialize on the property that don’t necessarily involve gambling.

The property recently opened a new VIP space called the Celebrity Casino & Lounge on the casino’s second floor. The lounge features Jerry Longo’s Meatballs & Martinis, as well as live music and entertainment. You can play slots there, too, and there is also a blackjack table and baccarat table.

Other dining venues include the 1800 Noodle Bar (Chinese and Vietnamese cuisine), Parlays Quick Bites (fast food), and the Pulse Bar (a “casual watering hole”), where you can also play electronic table games and watch the big screen TVs. There is also a nearly 3,000-square-foot space available for conferences and events.

There is no hotel on site, but there are plenty of places to stay, thanks to the casino’s close proximity to downtown Kansas City. There is a large parking lot plus a multilevel parking garage.

Bally Rewards Club

Like most casinos, Bally’s Kansas City has a loyalty program in which regular patrons can earn various perks just by playing the games in the casino. The program is the Bally Rewards Club and involves players earning Bally Bucks as they play that they can subsequently redeem for various rewards.

When playing slots, members insert their Bally Rewards Club card into the machine to get credit for their play. For table games, members need to present their card to the game supervisor when they first sit down. They can then redeem their Bally Bucks in multiple ways at the casino:

  • 2,000 Bally Bucks = $1 cash
  • 1,000 Bally Bucks = $1 free slot play
  • 500 Bally Bucks = $1 in food or merchandise credit

Note that rewards club members at Bally’s Kansas City can only redeem their points at that casino and not at other Bally’s casinos.

Bally Rewards Club members also receive tier points for their casino play. Those points dictate your tier in the rewards program:

  • Pro — 0 to 3,999 points
  • Star — 4,000 to 14,999 points
  • Superstar — 15,000 points and above
  • Legend — by invitation only

The perks increase as you go up the tiers. Certain offers and promotions are available to everyone, but those in the higher tiers receive additional benefits like preferred parking and food credits all of the way up to travel and cruise packages, VIP services, and lounge access, among other amenities. Those in the higher tiers also get Bally Buck multipliers, helping them accumulate Bally Bucks at faster rates.

Bally’s Kansas City history

Bally’s Kansas City began as the Hilton Flamingo in October 1996. The riverboat casino was constructed on a river basin on the south shore of the Missouri River. In fact, construction involved excavating about 100,000 cubic yards of dirt to create a 5-acre lake in which the casino floated, thereby meeting the legal requirement for gambling properties in the state.

As the original name suggests, Hilton Hotels Corp. was the original owner until Isle of Capri Casinos bought the property in 2000. The following year, the casino’s name changed to Isle of Capri Kansas City and remained so over the next two decades.

In 2017, Eldorado Resorts acquired the casino. Then in 2020, Eldorado sold it to Twin River Worldwide Holdings, which subsequently renamed it Casino KC. Soon, though, Twin River bought up the Bally’s brand from Caesars Entertainment and, in August 2021, renamed the property Bally’s Kansas City. Twin River also gave the property a $40 million makeover in 2021, completely renovating the exterior with a new modern look while also adding the Bally’s branding everywhere inside.
