When Missouri sports betting launches on Dec. 1, BetMGM is going to be ready to go live, too. The operator and Century Casino & Hotel Cape Girardeau have agreed on a long-term partnership.
BetMGM is now one of 14 potential sports operators in the Show Me state. Erwin Haitzmann and Peter Hoetzinger, Co-Chief Executive Officers of Century Casinos, said in a statement:
“We are excited to partner with BetMGM, a leading online sports betting and gaming entertainment company with a dynamic and innovative brand.
“This partnership is another step forward in leveraging our Missouri licenses and delivering premium entertainment experiences for our customers.”
Details of agreement
The press release did not share many details of the partnership between Century Casinos and BetMGM. However, it disclose certain revenue agreements:
“The agreement includes a percentage of net gaming revenue payable to Century, with a guaranteed minimum, as well as retail sportsbook options to be exercised at Century’s discretion.”
BetMGM had been well-prepared for Missouri to launch sports betting. The operator partnered with the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs back in 2022. Those moves certainly paid off.
Missouri became the 39th state to legalize sports betting, and will accept applications for tethered licenses until Sept. 12. Untethered licenses have until July 15 to apply, with the Missouri Gaming Board announcing the “at-large” selections on Aug. 15.
Other operators such as FanDuel, DraftKings, Caesars and bet365 all have good odds at entering the Missouri market.
