Bally’s Kansas City just got a whole lot bigger. On Sept. 15, the casino opened its long-awaited 35,000-square-foot expansion.

Now, there are more games and more food options. But that’s not where the expansion project ends.

The entire property at 1800 E. Front St. off Interstate 29 in Kansas City was renovated with the customer in mind. Access to the property is now easier, and once you’re at the casino, several entrances were added for players to get their game on quickly.

Bally’s Kansas City expansion adds 200 new games and more dining choices

Bally’s President George Papanier attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the milestone. Michael Donovan, Bally’s regional vice president and general manager, Midwest, also attended. He thanked all the people who worked to make the expansion a success.

“We are very excited to unveil a transformed Bally’s Kansas City. From the moment guests arrive, they will be greeted with enhanced dining and gaming experiences. We are grateful for the collaborative work of the city and the hundreds of union members who played a critical role in bringing this expansion to reality over the past two years.”

The expansion ushers in a new era for Bally’s Kansas City, one of 13 Missouri casinos — and one of the frontrunners to come to the state should there ever be Missouri online casinos. As part of the project, Bally’s redesigned its casino floor, adding 200 new games and a high-limit slot section. The casino’s second floor now has additional games and “provides guests with a more relaxed, comfortable gaming experience.”

The casino also expanded retail and dining options, including Chickie’s & Pete’s Crabhouse and Sports Bar. Plus, there’s space to add new restaurants and bars in the future.

New restaurants, bars and amenities are just the tip of the iceberg. Bally’s KC also renovated the entire property inside and out. Improvements include:

  • New lighting
  • Steel frames and fabric panels
  • Improved traffic circulation
  • Multiple entrances to the property

The Celebrity Casino and Lounge is another addition to the property. The lounge is located on the casino’s second floor. It offers more than 30 slot machines ranging in denomination from penny slots to $5. One blackjack table and one baccarat table are also available alongside a “unique dining experience featuring Jerry Longo’s.”

Bally’s is making moves in the Midwest

Bally’s Corporation is cementing its position as a casino leader, particularly in the Midwest. In 2020, Bally’s took ownership of Isle of Capri and rebranded the property to current-day Bally’s Kansas City. In the three years since, Bally’s made several upgrades to the property, including this most recent expansion.

Further north, Bally’s made history earlier this month. The company opened Chicago’s first-ever, land-based casino within city borders. The company opened its temporary property at the Medinah Temple in The Windy City. The casino will remain open for three years while Bally’s builds its permanent property in Chicago’s River West neighborhood.

Bally’s Kansas City is open 24/7 except for an hour on Wednesday mornings from 5 to 6 a.m.
